Special Course Offering:

"Real Life Obedience"

DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SCOOP AND POOP AFTER YOUR OWN DOG AND PROPERLY DISPOSE OF THE FECES.
BASIC OBEDIENCE LEVEL REQUIRED.
NO DOGS WITH AGGRESSION ISSUES ARE ALLOWED IN THIS PROGRAM.

Length:
      

Consists of six Training Sessions. Lessons are 45 minutes in length and take place in Whitby at different outside locations.
 

 Requirements:




 

Required to have proof of 2 sets of vaccinations and be neutered or spayed (exceptions puppies under 7 months) Dogs must be on leash at all times with a collar and either a 6ft flat nylon or leather leash. Please no snap-on collars as they tend to break. Bring treats and bags required for poop and scoop. You must be able to control your dog! Prior Puppy or Basic obedience level required.

The purpose of these classes is to challenge both owner and dog in real life outside situations. Working in neighbourhoods, and other locations around the city you and your dog will continue to build on the skills you have already learned. Classes are kept small. Classes are rescheduled due to inclement weather conditions at a time and date at the convenience of K9 Manners.

In-Home Lessons Offered:

Puppy Training

  

 Length:
      

Lessons are 1 hour in length and take place in your home environment.
 

 Requirements:

 

Available from 7 weeks to 6 months, all puppies must be properly vaccinated prior to socializing with appropriate dogs.
 

 Details:


 

The Lessons will focus on socializing your puppy safely with people and other dogs. Introduction to training commands such as look, sit, down, stay, walking on a leash and come will be covered.  You will learn about consistent schedules, how to deal with mouthing, chewing, house training and other puppy challenges.

 

 

 

Basic

 Length:
 

Lessons are 1 hour in length and take place in your home environment.

 Requirements:
 

Required to have 2 sets of vaccinations.
  

 Details:



 

Focuses on look, sit, down, heel, stay and come commands will be covered. You will learn how to properly Socialize your dog, How To Establish Leadership and Live With Your Dog.
Lessons are recommended weekly, but are flexible to your schedule, some clients prefer bi-weekly lessons allowing them extra time to work with their dog.

 

 

Intermediate

 Length:

 

Lessons are 1 hour in length and take place in your home environment, parks, and other areas near your home.
 

 Requirements:
 

Required to have 2 sets of vaccinations.
  

 Details:

 

Training Sessions focusing on the commands taught in the Basic Lessons under distractions. You will learn about Body Language, Understanding Social Structures, and How Dogs Learn.

 

 

Advanced

 Length:

  

Lessons are 1 hour in length and take place in your home environment, parks, and other areas near your home.
 

 Requirements:

Required to have 2 sets of vaccinations.
  

 Details:
  

 

Training Sessions that focus on proofing and securing your dog’s obedience under heavy distractions. In this course you will learn off leash training as well how to continue to maintain your dog’s level of obedience.

 

 

Targeted

 Length:
    

Lessons are 1 hour in length.

Required to have 2 sets of vaccinations.
 

 Details:

   

Training Sessions that focus on specific problems, such as jumping, food surfing etc., and the strategies used to resolve these issues. These lessons can be incorporated with all other lessons or done separately if required.

 

 

  Boarding and Training

Puppy Class - $210.00

Ages:  Puppies from 12 weeks to 6 months (2 sets of vaccinations required)

Owner Theory

Leadership, Socialization, Crate Training, Mouthing, Housebreaking, Chewing, Jumping

Course Focus:

The focus of this course will be to encourage puppies to interact and socialize with each other and other owners in a controlled environment. Introduction to obedience commands such as sit, look, and leave it will be covered.  Puppy play time and discussions on proper puppy care will also be included.

 

 

Family Basic Class - $210.00

Requirements:  20 ft long leash and regular 6 foot leash, toy, treats

Introducing distractions and corrections and building time for dogs to hold commands

Classes will be held inside and outside

 

Owner Theory

Leadership, Consistency, How your dog learns, Equipment - what best fits your dog, Jumping

Course Focus – The focus of this course will be basic commands, look, sit, leave it, down, stay, heeling, out, off, settle, and come.  Attention to consistency in training your dog, building on puppy training, and teaching the dog good manners.   All members of family encouraged to attend.

 

 

Intermediate - $210.00

Requirements:  20 ft long leash and regular 6 foot leash, toy, treats – must have basic training

Using distractions and corrections to proof your dog

Classes will be held inside and outside

 

Owner Theory

Motivation/Bond Building, Reward Systems, Equipment - what best fits your dog

Course Focus – This course will expand on your basic commands as well learning new commands such as left and right finish, halt, left, right and about turns and heeling at different paces.  Focus proofing dogs under distraction and increasing time and distance for obedience.  This level of obedience will build on the bond and relationship you currently have with your dog and teach your dog to be more attentive and listen even under distraction.

 

 

Advance - $210.00

Requirements:  20 ft long leash and regular 6 foot leash, toy, treats

Using distractions and corrections to secure your dog’s training– must have Intermediate Training

 

Owner Theory

Dog Parks – what to watch for, Reading Body Language of your and other dogs, Maintaining your dogs current level of training

Course Focus – Focus will be on proofing and securing your dog's obedience commands under higher levels of distraction as well as off leash.  This level of obedience allows your dog more freedom because a well behaved dog is a pleasure to have and welcomed just about everywhere!  

 

 

Fun Agility - $210.00

Requirements:  Regular 6 foot leash and collar, toy, treats, water, clicker and clear plastic lid. 

Dogs must have Basic or Intermediate level of training and be 6 months old or older

 

Owner Theory

“Touch/Target”, Contact areas, Importance of having fun,Bond Building, Building your dog’s focus, Drive Building, Importance of correcting bad habits as soon as they begin

Course Focus – Having fun with your dog and introducing to different pieces of equipment.  Learning restrained recalls, fun games/challenges for your dog.

 

 

Club Night10 weeks $350.00

Club night is where you and your canine friend can learn and develop specific goals/skills not found in other classes.  A trainer is available to assist, as well meeting/learning with other people and their canines in a club environment.  Agility equipment is available for those who want to practice and build their agility skills.
